To construct and evaluate a novel nomogram for predicting the risk of dual dimensional frailty (comorbidity between physical frailty and social frailty) in older maintenance haemodialysis.
A cross-sectional investigation was conducted. A total of 386 older MHD patients were recruited between September and December 2024 from four haemodialysis centres in four tertiary hospitals in Sichuan Province, China. LASSO regression and binary logistic regression were employed to determine the predictors of dual dimensional frailty. The prediction performance of the model was evaluated by discrimination and calibration. The decision curve was utilised to estimate the clinical utility. Internal validation with 1000 bootstrap samples was conducted to minimise overfitting.
In the overall sample (386 cases), a total of 92 (23.8%) of patients exhibited dual dimensional frailty. Five relevant predictors, including physical activity, self-perceived health status, ADL impairment, malnutrition, and self-perceptions of aging, were identified for constructing the nomogram. Internal validation indicated excellent discriminatory power and calibration of the model, while the clinical decision curve demonstrated its remarkable clinical utility.
The novel nomogram constructed in this study holds promise for aiding healthcare professionals in identifying physical and social frailty risks among older patients on maintenance haemodialysis, potentially informing early and targeted interventions.
This nomogram enables nurses to efficiently stratify dual-dimensional frailty risk during routine assessments, facilitating early identification of high-risk patients. Its visual output can guide tailored interventions, such as exercise programmes, nutritional support, and counselling, while optimising resource allocation.

To examine chain mediating effect of discharge readiness and self-efficacy between quality of discharge teaching and self-management in patients after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
Although self-management after PCI has significant benefits in controlling risk factors and delaying disease progression, the status of self-management remains unoptimistic. A large number of studies have explored the close relationship between the quality of discharge teaching and patients self-management, but little is known about the underlying mechanisms.
The cross-sectional samples was collected from a tertiary hospital in China. Self-reported questionnaires were used to assess quality of discharge teaching, discharge readiness, self-efficacy and self-management. Pearson correlation analysis and mediation effect analysis were used for statistical analysis.
The study used the STROBE checklist for reporting.
A total of 198 patients with a mean age of 64.99 ± 11.32 (34–85) were included. The mean score of self-management was 88.41 ± 11.82. Quality of discharge teaching, discharge readiness, self-efficacy and self-management were all positively correlated. Mediation effect analysis showed that the mediating effects of discharge readiness, self-efficacy, discharge readiness and self-efficacy between quality of discharge teaching and self-management were 0.157, 0.177 and 0.049, respectively, accounting for 21.96%, 24.76% and 6.85% of the total effect.
The quality of discharge teaching for patients after PCI not only directly affects self-management, but also can indirectly affect self-management through discharge readiness and self-efficacy.
To improve the life quality of patients after PCI, medical staff should pay attention to the influence of self-management of quality of discharge teaching, and develop intervention strategies based on the path of discharge readiness and self-efficacy.

To construct key quality indicators for aged care facilities in China.
Evaluating the care quality in aged care facilities is problematic. Evaluation of nursing care quality is important for improving nursing and self-supervision in aged care facilities. However, a few regulations and studies regarding care quality evaluation have been implemented in China.
This two-tier Delphi study aimed to achieve consensus on key quality indicators for aged care facilities in China. The entry pool was determined by literature review and research team discussion, followed by a discussion by a panel of experts to establish the items of the Delphi study. Finally, key care quality indicators were established through a two-round Delphi study. This study followed the SQUIRE 2.0 guidelines.
The initial 16 quality indicators of the entry pool was developed based on a literature review and a group discussion. Sixteen quality indicators were reduced to eight after the expert discussion. After two rounds of expert consultation, the eight quality indicators became nine, which were then evaluated for importance, formula rationality, and operability using Kendall's harmony coefficients (first round: 0.150, 0.143 and 0.169, respectively; second round: 0.209, 0.159 and 0.173, respectively).
Key quality indicators provide quantifiable evidence for evaluating the care quality in aged care facilities, but their applicability needs continuous improvement.
